The Distribution Engineering section is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of both the City of Redding's 12,000 volt distribution and 115,000 volt transmission interconnected grid systems. This includes substation and transmission line design and construction, project coordination, substation maintenance, regulatory reporting, claim investigation, reliability statistics, metering, system planning, grid operations, and any other related issue.

To achieve these goals the Distribution Engineering section has one part-time and twelve full-time staff members:
